-----------------------------------------------------------
Powerful Techniques for Living With Your True Purpose
by Song Chengxiang
-----------------------------------------------------------

Whenever I ask people this question,

"What do you really want in your life?"

They will usually give me answers as follows.

"I want to have more success in my life." "I want
to have more money." "I want to have a better
relationship."

Then I ask them "What will success give you?"
"What will money give you?" "What will a good
relationship give you?"

They will always come down to one answer -
"Feeling Good!"

Yes, "Feeling Good" is the Ultimate Need of any
human being. Nothing is as important as feeling
good. Therefore, the quality of your life comes
down to one thing --your ability to feel good.
Did I say that? Yes, feeling good is an ability.
It is like a muscle; the more you use, the
stronger it will become. You either use it or
lose it. Unfortunately, the majority of people
today have forgotten how to use this powerful
ability.

Today I will give you some powerful techniques.
As long as you use them, they will awaken your
ability to feel good. The quality of your life
will increase dramatically, you will have a
tremendous amount of energy, and live a life of
total fulfillment. These techniques are so simple
that you won't believe it. I only ask you to keep
a ten-day commitment, use them for ten days, and
see how your life will change. After ten days,
you decide to keep them or not. I bet you will
get addicted to it. Ok, let's begin.

Technique No 1: Flip Switch

Although we know the importance of feeling good,
most of the time in daily life we forget about
it. We are so busy dealing with the "important
matters" we meet everyday, that we forget the
more important matters of "Feeling good, living a
stress free life". At the time we realize this,
we are already in a deep state of negativity.

The Solution is to do a "Flip Switch" throughout
the day.

What is Flip Switch? Flip Switch is a technique
whereby you hold in your mind a positive image, a
moment from your past when you felt really good,
or just an imagined event that makes you feel
good. Hold it for a few seconds. At the moment
you do your Flip Switch, it will cancel out all
the previous negative emotions. The key is to do
it often. Don't wait until your negative emotions
get big, and dominate you thoughts. Kill the
monster when it is little.

Do this exercise throughout the day, and you will
see the changes in your life simultaneously. I
can't stress enough how powerful this exercise
is, try it out for yourself.

Some people find it is hard to hold a image. My
answer to them is, just pretend you see. The
importance is not how clearly you see, but how
strong you feel.

Technique No 2: Capture Magic Moments

We don't remember all the things that happen in
our lives, but we remember some moments.
Unfortunately, most people only remember the
unhappy moments, and forget the happy moments.
These unhappy memories only make them unhappy,
and they don't even notice. The purpose of this
technique is to help you consciously memorize
those magical happy moments so that they will
make you happier. It is very simple, keep a
magical journal, every night before you go to
bed, and recall all the good things that happened
in your day. Note down things you enjoyed, things
you learned, and most importantly things you have
achieved. Every week, record your top
achievements during the week, and every month,
record your top achievements during the month.
You will be amazed at how many things you have
achieved, and wonder why you did not notice them
before.

Take the 10 day challenge; you will love the
positive changes in your life. When you find your
ability to feel good increases, you will really
live with your true purpose.

Technique No 3: Be grateful for everything

Do you know what the most powerful emotional
state that people can have is? Yes, that is
gratitude. When you are in the state of
gratitude, you are in line with the source energy
of the universe. You get to see things clearly.
Any obstacles become an opportunity for you.
People feel depressed, or unhappy, most of the
time because they focus too much attention onto
the problems they have, and forget that they have
many wonderful things happening in their lives.

Be grateful for the love you receive from your
family, your friends, your colleagues. Thank them
in some way. Treat them a meal, buy them a gift,
just give them a word of greeting, or just give
them a prayer in your heart.

Be grateful to yourself, to your body. Say thanks
to your feet for supporting you for such a long
time, say thanks to your eyes for letting you see
the beauty of this world, say thanks to your ears
for giving you the beautiful sounds of the
universe. Say thank you to every part of your
body.

Thank the universe for all the blessings it gives
you, and all the blessings you are receiving. Be
grateful for everything you have now, and you
shall receive much more.

Technique No 4: The secret of giving

What you give you shall receive! You can see much
evidence that shows you this is absolutely true.
The wealthiest men on this planet are always the
people who give most. The more they give, the
more they receive. Bill Gates is the richest man
on earth, because he gives the most. No any other
person in history has ever given as much money to
the world as Bill Gates does. You must give the
very thing that you want to receive. If you want
money, you must give money. If you want love, you
must give love. The best way to stay happy and
feel loved is to make other people feel happy and
loved. Give love to everyone you meet, a simple
greeting or a word of compliment will go a long
way. At the very moment you show your love to
other people, the universal law has already
guaranteed you will receive it back, and it will
give it back to you in the most amazing way.

A point to note is that you must give out
unconditionally; don't expect return from the
person you give to, the universe will orchestrate
all the details.

Give love, and you will receive love!

Technique No 5: I am a VIP

Nothing is so important as feeling good. Your
outer world is a direct reflection of your inner
world. If you want to experience joyfulness, and
richness in your outer world, you have to have a
joyful, rich inner world. The only way to have a
happy, prosperous life is to experience happiness
and prosperity in your inner world. Nothing is
more important than this.

Where can you find these wonderful feelings? Who
can give you these good experiences? The answer
is YOU! You are the creator of anything you
experience in your life. Only you can control
your own feelings. If you don't give permission,
no one can ever influence any of your feelings.
But what I find is that people always give power
to their environment, they allow others to
control their feelings. They feel bad because
some bad things happen in their lives, they feel
bad because others have done bad things to them.
They blame the world, they blame others as the
cause of their bad emotions. What they don't know
is that others will never have any influence over
their inner feelings if they don't allow them to.
From this day onwards, take full control of your
own feelings, never give control to others. You
are 100% responsible for your own feelings. You
decide to feel good every moment in life.

No one can make you feel bad if you don't allow
them to. You are in total control of your own
feelings, and you decide to feel good. The
question is how you are going to feel good. You
do this by treating yourself as a VIP, a very
important person. Think about what you would do
to a VIP. Wouldn't you do anything to make him or
her happy? Wouldn't you do something good for him
or her? Wouldn't you put him or her as your first
priority? From this day onwards, treat yourself
as a VIP, do anything to make yourself happy.
Treat yourself a meal; buy yourself a gift, give
yourself a break from time to time. You deserve
this, because you are your own VIP, no one is
more important than yourself.

Technique No 6: The power of focus

I am sure you have heard sayings like "What you
focus on tends to expand.", " What you focus on
becomes your reality.", "You are what you think
most of the time.". Basically they are saying one
thing "You become what you focus on."

We all want a prosperous life, we all want a life
of fulfillment, but very few people focus on
this. They only focus on what they are worried
about, and in the end that is what they get. You
will attract the very thing that you focus on.
This universal law never fails, it works 100%
accurately. If you focus on poverty, you will get
it; if you focus on riches, you will get them. If
you focus on happiness, you will get it; if you
focus on sorrow, you will get it too. This law
works perfectly.

The question is what should we consciously do to
focus our attention on things we want. We have
been taught to focus on the fears and worries for
years. The answer is simple. We must use the same
way that we used to focus on negative things to
focus our attention on the positive things. What
do you do when you are focusing on the things you
worry about? You probably talk to yourself
consciously or unconsciously. Most of the time,
your self talk is carried out in a form of Q&A .

Q: "Why do these things happen to me?" A:
"Because I am stupid?"; Q: "Why am I so stupid?"
A: "Because I am a fool."

Do you find you have ever had this kind of
conversation with yourself? The way to deal with
it is to be aware of it, and use the same way to
focus your attention on the positive things. Ask
yourself empowering questions. Ask questions in
such a way that you will always get the answers
that make you feel good. No matter how bad the
situation is, ask yourself, "What is great about
this?", "What can I learn from this?"

If you continually ask yourself, you will always
find something great, and something you can
learn. Will that make you feel better? You'd
better believe it.

From now on, make a commitment- no matter how bad
the situation is, you will always find a question
to turn your attention to the positive. You
become what you focus on!

Technique No 7: No Competition

Many of our disappointments and bad feelings come
from competition, or comparison. We feel bad
about ourselves; because we see others are doing
better than we do. As long as we focus our
attention on our weakness, we will never feel
good about ourselves. We feel bad, because others
are more handsome or more beautiful than us; we
feel bad because others have more money, better
cars, better houses than we have; We feel bad
because others get promoted, but we don't; We
feel bad just because others are happier than we
are. As long as you compare yourself with others,
you will always find someone who is better than
you. And you will never feel good enough.

Instead of falling into this trap of endless
competing, why not free ourselves, and live life
in our own way. Instead of focusing on what
others are doing better than we do, and feeling
bad about ourselves, why not focus on learning
from others and improving our own skills? Life is
about growing, not about competing. Focus your
attention on self-growth, go for the best, and
you will finally see the big rewards.

In the Athens 2004 Olympics, the Chinese athlete
Liu Xiang won the first gold medal in the 110
meters men's hurdles competition for China. He
has made new Chinese history in the Olympic
Games. When he was asked, if the four-time world
champion Allen Johnson crashed out in the
qualifying heat, whether his own performance
would be affected, he said, "Not at all, I just
follow my own plan, and perform for the best." In
his mind, he does not care who is running against
him, he just does his best.

Forget about competition, go for the best!

Technique No 8: Get in touch with your higher
self

Nowadays, we are too busy in our daily
activities. We even forget who we really are. We
really need to find some time for ourselves; get
in touch with our higher self. There are two ways
you can do this. The first is nature. Find
yourself some spare time every week, and take a
walk in the park, or go to the forest. Listen to
the sound of nature, and feel the power of it.
See the greenness of this beautiful nature, and
enjoy being with it. Feel that you are safe, and
you are close to Mother Nature. The second way
you can get in touch with your higher self is
through meditation. There is too much
misconception about meditation, and people tend
to make it really complicated. Meditation is easy
to do, and everyone can do it. The simplest way
is to just sit quietly, and count your breath.
Whenever you attention goes away, bring it back
to your breath. The purpose of meditation is to
clear your conscious mind, so that you can get in
touch with your subconscious mind. There are some
advanced meditation techniques that can manifest
your desires fast. I will reveal them to you in
my future articles. For the time being, practice
this simple meditation, it will give you a lot of
benefits.

A Coffee with Joe Vitale

A coffee with ... Joe Vitale
Wimberley author who appeared in 'The Secret' discusses the phenomenon

By Jenny Miller
SPECIAL TO THE AMERICAN-STATESMAN
Thursday, May 24, 2007

It's 10:45 a.m. and Joe Vitale has already harnessed the powers of the universe several times.
On the drive from his Wimberley home to the Barnes & Noble at the Arboretum, the doctor of metaphysics, marketing guru and author of "way too many books to mention" used a tool called the law of attraction to ask for the following: a safe trip with no traffic (which he gets); that he be early for the coffee interview (which he is); and that we easily find each other in the bookstore's cafe (which we do).

The law of attraction — the theory that we "attract" into our lives whatever it is our minds are focused on — is the central message of the best-selling self-help book and film "The Secret," in which Vitale appears. If you haven't gotten in on "The Secret" yet, you've probably at least heard of it. The DVD, released in March 2006, has already sold more than 1.5 million copies. The corresponding book has 3.75 million copies in print, and both have topped the charts at Amazon.com.

Those who have seen the film will remember Vitale as the dimpled, middle-aged man in a black T-shirt and brown prayer beads who uttered some of the most memorable lines. "You are the Michelangelo of your own life. The David that you are sculpting is you," is one. Another: "The universe likes speed," meaning that to reach our goals we should take action in the very moment we feel inspired.

The speed line is so frequently referenced that Vitale declares it will be carved on his tombstone, though the 53-year-old adds that he has plenty of time before then.

The movie's message is somewhat radical, and, as much as the English-speaking public seems to be gobbling it up, there's been criticism, too. One major complaint (the thesis of a recent Newsweek story) is the focus on attracting money and material goods over more altruistic goals. (And indeed, sports cars and luxurious houses play as big a role in "The Secret" as any of the people quoted.)

Vitale himself is a sports car aficionado. He owns a limited edition Panoz, which he "attracted" last year on a day when he drove to San Antonio merely wanting to lay eyes on one of the rare automobiles. As it turned out, the car had been a prize in a charity raffle, and the winner was thrilled until he got his tax bill. Vitale ended up driving away with the car that day having paid less than half of the usual $150,000 sticker price, he says.

To Vitale, his Panoz and two BMWs are "proof that the law of attraction works." When asked whether that's a rather materialistic outlook, he seems prepared for the question. "People have a belief that the material is not spiritual," he says. "It's our cultural programming."

What Vitale and the other "teachers" in the film want us to learn is that the material, according to metaphysical thought, is a direct manifestation of the spiritual. As he puts it, "Your thoughts and feelings are creating the outer reality."

Though Vitale lives what he describes as a "life of luxury," that wasn't always the case. More than 30 years ago, before he discovered metaphysics (or writing, or marketing), the Ohio native lost his savings to a fraudulent company that promised work overseas, he says. He then spent six months homeless in Dallas, sleeping in doorways and churches. A relative eventually helped him get work in Houston, and he spent years in that city in "virtual poverty" going from one low-paying job to another.

"It felt like there was no way out, and then I started learning about the law of attraction," Vitale says. A few years later he published his first book, "Zen and the Art of Writing." He learned marketing while publicizing that book, and things took off from there.

"The life I have right now compared to the life I had 30 years ago is so dramatically different that it feels like a past life," Vitale says. "I want people to realize that if you keep being positive, you keep moving forward, you can get to a place that's so different from where you are now it will blow your mind."

That seems like an inspiring note to end on, and as we toss our drink cups in the trash I'm relieved that the self-described bookaholic plans to browse the store's titles before he leaves. If we walked out to the parking lot together, he might see my dusty 8-year-old Honda Civic, which I would have washed if I'd known it was a direct manifestation of my inner reality. Maybe I should spend the drive home attracting some spiffier wheels.

Creating Vision Boards

Here's a great article on creating vision boards. I think all you Secret lovers with find it useful! --Ron

How to Make a Vision Board
by Christine Kane

One of my most popular past blog posts is Vision Boards: A Quick Story. I wrote it months before the DVD The Secret was released. Then John Assaraf's story of manifesting his giant mansion by using vision boards (in The Secret) popularized the concept. Many of us, however, have been doing them for years. (I've been using them at my women's retreats for about 5 years now.) And the value of a vision board goes way beyond just mansions and gold watches!

What is a Vision Board?
A vision board (also called a Treasure Map or a Visual Explorer or Creativity Collage) is typically a poster board on which you paste or collage images that you've torn out from various magazines. It's simple.

The idea behind this is that when you surround yourself with images of who you want to become, what you want to have, where you want to live, or where you want to vacation, your life changes to match those images and those desires.

For instance, before I ever started performing music and I had no idea how I'd ever get a gig, write enough songs, or assemble a press kit, I drew a picture of myself in a bar with people watching me perform (I'm a terrible visual artist, so I actually had to label the people "people!"). And though it wasn't the only factor in making it happen, I had a calendar full of bar and coffeehouse gigs by the next year.

My drawing was a kind of a vision board. Vision boards do the same thing as my drawing did. They add clarity to your desires, and feeling to your visions. For instance, at the time I did my drawing, I knew I wanted to play in bars and coffeehouses. (I have since left the that circuit, and I'm performing in theatres and at conferences. But in my early twenties, I wanted to play in bars and coffeehouses. I was pretty clear about that!) Taking the time to draw it out, even poorly, made it indelible in my mind.

There are several methods you can use for creating your vision board. I've written about each one below. You can choose which one works best for you, depending on where you find yourself on this path of creating your life.

Supplies you'll need for creating a Vision Board:
- Poster board. (Target sells a really nice matte finish board. I highly recommend it.)

- A big stack of different magazines. (You can get them at libraries, hair salons, dentist offices, the YMCA.) Make sure you find lots of different types. If you limit your options, you'll lose interest after a while. When I facilitate my women's retreats, I always make sure we have plenty of Oprah, Real Simple, Natural Home, Yoga Journal, Dwell, Ode, Parenting, Money, Utne, and an assortment of nature magazines.

- Glue. Not Elmers. (It makes the pages ripple.) I like using Yes! Glue or Rubber cement. Glue sticks are my second choice because they don't last.

Before you begin your vision board:
No matter which method you're choosing, have a little ritual before you begin your vision board. Sit quietly and set the intent. With lots of kindness and openness, ask yourself what it is you want. Maybe one word will be the answer. Maybe images will come into your head. Just take a moment to be with that. This process makes it a deeper experience. It gives a chance for your ego to step aside just a little, so that you can more clearly create your vision.

Put on soft music. My favorite music for activities like this is Anugama Shamanic Dream I and Shamanic Dream II . I love these CD's for massage or any activity where you want to keep your mind quiet.

The Five Steps of Creating a Vision Board:
Step 1: Go through your magazines and tear the images from them. No gluing yet! Just let yourself have lots of fun looking through magazines and pulling out pictures or words or headlines that strike your fancy. Have fun with it. Make a big pile of images and phrases and words.

Step 2: Go through the images and begin to lay your favorites on the board. Eliminate any images that no longer feel right. This step is where your intuition comes in. As you lay the pictures on the board, you'll get a sense how the board should be laid out. For instance, you might assign a theme to each corner of the board. Health, Job, Spirituality, Relationships, for instance. Or it may just be that the images want to go all over the place. Or you might want to fold the board into a book that tells a story. At my retreats, I've seen women come up with wildly creative ways to present a vision board.

Step 3: Glue everything onto the board. Add writing if you want. You can paint on it, or write words with markers.

Step 4: (optional, but powerful) Leave space in the very center of the vision board for a fantastic photo of yourself where you look radiant and happy. Paste yourself in the center of your board.

Step 5: Hang your vision board in a place where you will see it often.

Three Types of Vision Boards:
1 - The "I Know Exactly What I Want" Vision Board

Do this vision board if:
- You're very clear about your desires.- You want to change your environment or surroundings.- There is a specific thing you want to manifest in your life. (i.e. a new home, or starting a business.)

How to create this vision board:
With your clear desire in mind, set out looking for the exact pictures which portray your vision. If you want a house by the water, then get out the Dwell magazine and start there. If you want to start your own business, find images that capture that idea for you. If you want to learn guitar, then find that picture. I remember at the last retreat, one woman yelled out, "If anyone finds a picture of a little girl with red hair who looks happy, give it to me!" And someone else yelled out, "I'm looking for a Cadillac!" Pretty soon, a lively trading session began. Following the five steps above, create your vision board out of these images.

2 - The "Opening and Allowing" Vision Board
Do this vision board if:
- You're not sure what exactly you want- You've been in a period of depression or grief- You have a vision of what you want, but are uncertain about it in some way.- You know you want change but don't know how it's possible.

How to create this vision board:
Go through each magazine. Tear out images that delight you. Don't ask why. Just keep going through the magazines. If it's a picture of a teddy bear that makes you smile, then pull it out. If it's a cottage in a misty countryside, then rip it out. Just have fun and be open to whatever calls to you. Then, as you go through Step 2 above, hold that same openness, but ask yourself what this picture might mean. What is it telling you about you? Does it mean you need to take more naps? Does it mean you want to get a dog, or stop hanging out with a particular person who drains you? Most likely you'll know the answer. If you don't, but you still love the image, then put it on your vision board anyway. It will have an answer for you soon enough. Some women at my retreats had NO idea what their board was about, and it wasn't until two months later that they understood. The Opening and Allowing Vision Board can be a powerful guide for you. I like it better than the first model because sometimes our egos think they know what we want, and lots of times those desires aren't in alignment with who we really are. This goes deeper than just getting what you want. It can speak to you and teach you a little bit about yourself and your passion.

3 - The "Theme" Vision Board
Do this vision board if:
- It's your birthday or New Years Eve or some significant event that starts a new cycle.- If you are working with one particular area of your life. For instance, Work & Career.

How to create this vision board:
The only difference between this vision board and the others is that this one has clear parameters and intent. Before you begin the vision board, take a moment to hold the intent and the theme in mind. When you choose pictures, they will be in alignment with the theme. You can do the Theme Vision Board on smaller pages, like a page in your journal.
Some things to remember about vision boards:
- You can use a combination of all three types of vision boards as you create. Sometimes you might start out doing one kind, and then your intuition takes over and shifts into a whole different mode. That's called creativity. Just roll with it.

- Your vision board might change as you are making it. I was just talking with a friend of mine who said that she had been making a vision board for the new year. The theme was all about what she wanted in this year. Then, as she pulled pictures and began to lay them out, the theme changed into a simpler one about her everyday life and the moments in each day. It surprised and delighted her to experience that evolution. You might find that you have little epiphanies from making a vision board.
Make a Vision Journal
Another option is to use these same principles in a big sketch book. Get a large sketch book and keep an on-going vision journal. This is especially effective if you're going through many transitions in your life.

The Science of Getting Rich

This is kind of cool: an audio book version of the Wallace Wattles classic. This is the landmark book that started Rhonda Byrne on creating THE SECRET. You can get a free ebook version at my site: http://secretsofthesecret.com.

I love to listen to audio books. I pop 'em into my MP3 player and listen wherever I go. What a great way to learn! The recording on this one is very nice. I really like the reader's voice (this can really be an issue for me - if I don't find the voice to my liking, I just can't listen. I tune out).
And it's a cheap download! Take a peak here.

Ten Ways We Hinder the Law of Attraction

Ten Ways We Hinder the Law of Attraction
by Wendy Betterini

"Why isn't the Law of Attraction working for me?" This cry of frustration is uttered often by people who are learning to consciously create better lives using the Law of Attraction. After spending weeks trying to raise their vibration, focus their minds and bring forth a better reality, they can't understand why they're not seeing results. Or sometimes they'll see small results which gives them incentive to keep going, but they still don't see improvement where it REALLY counts.

Does this describe you? Have you raised your eyes to the heavens and demanded to know why the Law of Attraction isn't working for you? Or perhaps you've resigned yourself to one of these deadly beliefs:

"It seems to work for other people, but I just can't get it right."

"I must be doomed to failure."

"I knew it wouldn't work, but at least I tried."

"I'm such an idiot; why do I keep getting sucked into these ridiculous schemes?"

"God must really hate me."

Well, wipe those destructive thoughts right out of your mind! Seriously, they won't serve you a bit, though I can understand why you're tempted to believe them - I've been there too!

Here's the good news: the Law of Attraction IS working for you. It works all the time, every time, without exception. If you're not seeing the results you want, the time has come to ask yourself what you're putting out there that is attracting similar energy back into your life.

Before you get angry at me for telling you you're "doing it wrong," please understand that you're probably NOT doing it wrong - but there may be one or two things you're doing that are creating resistance, which slows down your results.

Skim down this list of the most common ways we hinder the Law of Attraction from delivering what we want, and compare them carefully with your own habitual thoughts and feelings:

INDECISION

Do you have a clear vision of exactly what you want? Perhaps you aren't picky, you just want things to be "better" than they are now, whatever that ends up looking like. However, the Universe doesn't want you to settle for "something good," but instead attract EXACTLY what you desire!

What do you desire? Take some time to think about the facets of your life. Think about your job, financial status, relationships, health, body size, vehicle, residence, and more. Are all of these things an accurate reflection of what you would create if you could start over? Make a detailed list of EXACTLY what you want to create for yourself. Write down every tiny aspect you can think of. Then read this list frequently to keep your vision sharp and clear in your mind.

UNWORTHINESS

Do you REALLY believe you deserve the things on your list? What makes you so special that you deserve abundant health, wealth and happiness? That's not a rhetorical question. I'm really asking, what makes you so special? Don't have an answer? How about this: you exist. Someone breathed you into existence and infused you with all these desires, and for what? Why would your desires exist if you weren't meant to experience them?

Until you can understand just how special and unique you truly are, you might resist the abundance and joy the Universe is offering you. Perhaps you feel guilty that others are struggling, so you keep yourself at a lower level so you don't make them feel bad. However, holding yourself back doesn't serve them, or you. Embrace your true worth as a human being and let it be a shining example for all to see. Empower others (and yourself) with the knowledge that they too can create better lives.

DISTRUST

Some of us have a skewed view of the Universe (or God, if that term resonates with you). From an early age, we're taught that we have to comply with certain guidelines and behavioral rules - or else. We see the Universe as some angry force that will deliver a wrath of misery upon us if we do something wrong. It's no surprise that most of us end up feeling like we're walking on eggshells. We actually EXPECT bad things to happen because we've developed such a negative view of the powers that be. We're afraid to ask for what we really want because we might be viewed as greedy, ungrateful or selfish. We're afraid to hope for something better because we might get a lightning bolt up the wazoo.

How about turning this belief around? We can just as easily believe in a loving Universe, one that wants us to do well, be happy, and feel abundant. Rather than approaching the Universe with the mind-set of a scolded child, why not step forward confidently and joyfully and claim ownership of what is already yours? Believe me, the Universe will applaud you for doing so, and reward you beyond your wildest dreams.

DOUBT

Even if you WANT to believe that the Law of Attraction really works, you might be holding back somewhat to protect yourself from disappointment. If you don't give it your "all," you think it won't hurt so badly when it doesn't work out. However, doubt is like a big old rubber doorstop that prevents the gateway of prosperity from opening. You affirm, you visualize, you get clear, and the gate begins to swing inward, creating a crack through which shimmering golden light shines forth. You begin to step forward into your glorious new reality, when "bump!," -- oops, never mind, there's a doorstop there and the gap isn't big enough to let you through. Oh well, better luck next time.

Think of FAITH as the oil that keeps the hinges on the gates of prosperity operating smoothly. If you keep the hinges lubricated and the gates free of any obstructions (doubts) - they will swing right open and you'll be dazzled by what you see on the other side.

DISBELIEF

No matter how badly you want something, if you don't believe it's possible, you will resist it. Perhaps you've set some lofty goals for yourself, things that almost seem too good to be true. Perhaps you want to be a millionaire, but you're currently earning $15,000 per year. Or you want to meet your soulmate, but you long ago convinced yourself that he or she doesn't exist. Turning these negative beliefs around is CRUCIAL to attracting your desires!

For every limiting belief you hold, I want you to take a blank sheet of paper and come up with ten reasons why your desires are POSSIBLE. It's important to make the reasons believable and logical. For example, "It's possible for me to become a millionaire because other people have done it, and some of them started with less than what I have now!" Or, "It's possible that my soulmate exists because I simply haven't met every person on the planet yet. He or she might be searching for me even as I search for him/her!"

Keep repeating these reasons to yourself, until you are absolutely CONVINCED that your desires are indeed possible. It may take time, and it will certainly take lots of repetition, but the stronger your belief is, the more likely you are to attract the end result you desire.

DUALITY

Do your day-to-day thoughts, feelings, and actions paint a very different picture than the affirmations and visualizations you project? Are you affirming your financial prosperity while at the same time worrying about your bills? Both realities CANNOT co-exist in your life. Either you're prosperous, or you're not. Either you're successful, or you're not. Either you're healthy, or you're besieged by aches and pains.

At every possible moment, you need to let go of your old reality - even if it means pretending that the symptoms of lack, struggle, and illness do not exist. At the very beginning, it will be a challenge to do this fully, but if you keep at it day after day, repeatedly turning your attention to thoughts of wellness, abundance, and joy, and focusing less on lack, struggle, and illness, you begin to shift your reality to what you focus on the most.

FEAR

Perhaps you're claiming to want something better, but you also fear it on a deeper level. If you want to be a best-selling author but you fear publicity and fame, guess what happens? You resist the formation of such a reality in your life because it makes you uncomfortable. If you want to be financially abundant but you worry about what others would think of you, resistance is woven throughout your desire for more money. In effect, you're asking for something but also pushing it away at the same time.

One good way to overcome these fears is by facing them on paper. Ask yourself how you would handle people who thought poorly of you for being wealthy. "I'd tell them to mind their own business," might be one response, or "Their opinions of me don't affect my life one way or the other" would work nicely also. If you get clear about your fears, you'll realize that most of them are irrational or irrelevant. Even the ones that hold merit, however, can be worked through and your resistance will dissolve in the light of clarity and purpose.

FORCE

You watched the movie, "The Secret," or read a great book about the Law of Attraction, and now you're all fired up! You're SO DETERMINED to change your life that you proceed full steam ahead. You begin religiously reciting affirmations and performing meditations and visualizations and feeling good at every possible opportunity. After a week or two nothing has happened, so you increase the intensity of your efforts. You start meditating not just for 15 minutes a day, but for two hours a day. Your affirmations become a litany of desperation to make something happen. Still no results, so you work harder, and harder, and HARDER at it - until finally you scream in frustration, utterly exhausted from trying so hard.

Lighten up! I know, that's easier said than done when you're not happy with your current reality. But seriously, the harder you "try," the worse it's going to get. Back off, relax, and just let it happen when it's going to happen. The more relaxed and joyful you can be about the process, the more quickly your desires will come forth. Read more about the process of "allowing," and learn how to BE what you're trying to attract. It's a much simpler way to activate the Law of Attraction, and everything will just FLOW smoothly and easily. No force required. Really.

FRUSTRATION

Speaking of frustration - it's yet another way we hinder the Law of Attraction. When we feel frustrated, we emit an unmistakable signal to the Universe that acts as a beacon to attract more situations to be frustrated about!

Remember the importance of FEELING GOOD! Why is it so important? Because of the signal it puts out to the Universe. The more you feel good, the more you attract situations and experiences that will help you to feel good. I know it's challenging to feel good when things aren't going the way you want, but it's so important to do so anyway! I don't care if you have to slink off to a private place to be alone with your thoughts, or sit in a movie theater to watch a comedy, or go window shopping on your lunch hour. FIND things that make you feel good, and do them as often as possible. It is so, so, SO important! If you have a few moments of frustration here and there, don't sweat it too much, just do what you can to have MORE moments of feeling good than you do of feeling frustration. It will make an incredible difference.

And finally, the Number One way we hinder the Law of Attraction:

IMPATIENCE

Most of the people I hear uttering the weary cry above (Why isn't the Law of Attraction working for me?) haven't been working at it for long. Perhaps a few weeks, maybe even a few months. Believe me, I know the feeling of desperation to get things moving in a more positive direction, but it takes time!

Remember that we're constantly experiencing a RESIDUAL effect of our PAST thoughts, feelings and beliefs. It's unrealistic (though understandable) to want to change it all overnight. But it's not going to happen that quickly most of the time.

Sure, you might see small improvements here and there, which can make you feel like you're making progress. That's a good thing! Just don't despair if you seem to be moving in slow motion through unpleasant circumstances. You're not crazy, you're not doomed to failure, and you're not a complete idiot. The transition you're going through is completely normal.

Simply do what you can to stay positive and keep up with the activities that will attract something better in the future. Be gentle with yourself, and know that this too shall pass. And in the very near future, when you really begin to see this force shifting the circumstances of your reality before your eyes, WOW - you'll be so glad you stuck with it through the tough spots!

The journey is worth it in the end, believe that.

Power of Affirmations

Some of you have been asking me about how to use affirmations
to change your belief system. I ran across this article and
thought the author summed it up very well.

Enjoy! -- Ron

The Ultimate Secrets of Truly Effective Affirmation Techniques

by Song Chengxiang
All rights reserved
Affirmation has been used by successful people for centuries. It has helped many ordinary people achieve extraordinary results in their lives. It has turned many failures into successes. It has made many miracles happen in the history of human evolution. However, the majority of people who use affirmation find that it doesn't work. Why is this the case? What are the elements that people have missed when they use affirmation techniques? I constantly ask myself these questions, and seek for the answers. The result is, no one book gives the complete answer. Some tips given in one book work for a specific situation, but not for others. Other books give other tips that work for other situations, but not for this. I have tested and filtered out the ineffective ones, and left only what I call the ultimate effective technique secrets.

The purpose of affirmation:
Before I give you the effective techniques, I must make you understand the true purpose of affirmation. Simply stated, the purpose of affirmation is to pass a command from the conscious mind to the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind has the ability, in anything it accepts as true, to do whatever it takes to turn it into reality. The purpose of an affirmation is to pass a message to the subconscious mind, and to make it believe the message is true. So this brings us to the first element of an effective affirmation.

1. The affirmation must be believable to the subconscious mind

Most of the affirmations people use, fail at this first stage. They tend to give an unrealistic message to the subconscious mind, hoping for a positive response. If you are financially broke, and you say to yourself "I earn $100,000 per year", is this believable to your mind? If your body is totally out of shape, and you say to yourself "I am very attractive", is this believable to your mind? I doubt it.

What if you are currently broke, and you want to make $100,000 per year? What if you are out of shape, and you want to make yourself attractive? I find the best and easiest way is to use the word "I choose" in your affirmation.

Instead of saying "I earn $100,000 per year."
Say "I choose to earn $100,000 per year"

Instead of saying "I am very attractive"
Say "I choose to feel that people find me attractive"

Do you feel the difference?

2. The subconscious mind seeks proof

There is a misconception that the affirmation must be repeated thousands of times before it can be installed in the subconscious mind. This is not necessarily true. You can use the repetition method to embed your affirmation, but there is an easier way. It is, at the time you find the proof, state your affirmation. Many people stay in poverty because they associate pain with money. Whenever they spend their money, they think of their bills, loans etc. This will automatically lead to ultimate pain. It is the feeling you attach to money that makes you rich or poor.

How can we turn this to our advantage? Instead of feeling pain when spending money, what if we associate pleasure with it? Next time when you go out shopping, at the moment you take out your money or credit card, say this affirmation to yourself "I always have more than enough to spend."

See how you feel. This works because the subconscious mind sees the proof. As long as you have some money left in your pocket, this affirmation is always true, so the subconscious mind will believe it.

How about if we combine the first and second methods together and make an affirmation like this: "I choose to feel that I always have more than enough to spend." Say this at the time you spend your money. See how you feel. You don't have to repeat it thousands of times, a few times of real life proof will make your subconscious mind believe it.

3. The affirmation must trigger feelings

A fact about the subconscious mind is that it does not speak in words, you can only communicate with it through feelings, and emotions. There are two methods that you can use to trigger your feelings. The first method is to use words that involve feelings. Words like "fun, enjoyable, comfortable, delightful" will work effectively. The second method is to use imagination. Visualize that the situation stated in your affirmation has already come true. See yourself in that situation and feel the feelings.

4. The affirmation must obey the 3 P's factor.

The 3 P's are Positive, Present Tense, and Personal.

Affirmations must be stated positively. Instead of saying "I am not fat", say "I choose to stay slim". The reason for this is that before the mind knows the meaning of, "I am not fat", it must think of what fat means first. So saying that statement will inevitably lead to the feeling of being fat.

Affirmations must be in the present tense. Many books mention this. However, I only agree to some extent. If you say "I have a beautiful new car", your mind will not believe you. The reason I include this here is that once it is combined with the first technique, it will work perfectly. Now say "I choose to have a beautiful new car". Your mind will do its best to bring it into reality.

Affirmations must be personal. Your subconscious mind only works for you, not for others. If you say "Ann loves me", it will not be effective, because you have no control over Ann. Now say "I choose to feel that Ann really loves me". This time you are in control, because you can control your own feelings.

5. Personal development affirmations should be stated in the comparative

"I am confident" may not be as effective as "I am becoming more and more confident".

An even better affirmation might be "I choose to feel more and more confident".

The reason for using the comparative, is because there is no end to how much more confident you can become. Otherwise, your mind may think you are already confident enough, and it will not need to do any more work.

These 5 techniques are the most effective ones that I have found from my research on affirmations. If you can use all the 5 techniques, I guarantee your results will be amazing. Even if you only use one or two of the techniques stated here, you will find your affirmations will become far more effective.

Hale Dwoskin of THE SECRET

I received this email from one of the Teachers of THE SECRET, Hale Dwoskin. He is the author of The Sedona Method, a book about releasing negative emotions.

His premise is that by releasing these inhibiting emotions, we allow the true splendor within us to bubble forth. I've used the method on and off over the last few years and I have found it quite useful and effective. Jack Canfield is a huge proponent of the Sedona Method too.

If you'd like to listen to Hale explain more about the process, go to the link below for an in-depth interview. He tells you everything you need to know to start using the process.

http://secretsofthesecret.com/hale_dwoskin_interview.htm

Here is the text of Hale's email:

The Secret behind The Secret

by One of the 24 Official Secret Teachers and author
of The Sedona Method, Hale Dwoskin

So, by now you know that the law of attraction is a Great Secret of Life.

What is the law of attraction? Simply put, the law of attraction states that "Like attracts like."

What this universal law tells us about our own lives is that the thoughts we think, feelings we feel, words we say, and actions we take all consist of energy that attracts to it more of its own kind. That is, negative energies attract negative energies, and positive energies attract positive energies.

Yet most of us cannot control how we think, feel and behave no matter how hard we try, yet ...

We need to let go of the old in order to make room for the new.

There is a simple and effective way to take charge of the law of attraction and easily let go of the old and hold in mind what you want and attract it to you. This technique is used by over one-third of the teachers in The Secret and many of them believe The Sedona Method is the secret behind The Secret.

Letting go of the old

If we truly have over 50,000 thoughts a day, that's a lot of thoughts to try to control and make positive. Yet if we "wake up on the wrong side of the bed," we can have the same feeling the whole day coloring every thought. So it is much more effective to master our emotions than simply trying to control our thoughts.

We are creating the sum total of our thinking and feeling about any particular topic all the time, but most of thinking and feeling is below our conscious awareness in our subconscious.

In fact, 94-96% of our actions are motivated by the thoughts and feelings that are outside ofour conscious awareness and control. When you let go of your conscious feelings using The Sedona Method you empty your subconscious and you take back your control.

So, how do you use the law of attraction in your life to produce the results you want?

Letting go of your thoughts and feelings actually dissolves the negative emotional charge and allows you to easily feel the natural feelings of joy, peace, happiness, wealth, andlove that are your true nature. You can let go of anything negative and uncover the positive that is natural in each and every one of us at our core. This will quickly and dramaticallyshift your sum total thinking and feeling about your goals and dreams and allow you to put the law of attraction into full effect in your life.

No doubt about it, letting go is the secret behind The Secret.

Remember, to create what you want it is important to feel what you want and not just think it. There is no more effective way to let go of your negative emotions and feel the positive outcome of your goals than with The Sedona Method.

The Sedona Method is a simple, powerful, easy-to-learn technique that shows you how to access your natural ability to let go of any unwanted feeling or thought right in the moment.

It has been practiced by hundreds of thousands of people worldwide since 1974, including over one-third of the teachers in The Secret. It is the key to unlocking your unlimited potential to have, be or do whatever you desire to attract into your life.

Now you know the secret behind The Secret. Practice it along with The Secret and you'll uncover that which mankind has sought since the dawn of time--and the Great Secret of the Ages will truly be yours.

Get Conversations with God before it's too late!

I love Neale Donald Walsch's books of the same name and I couldn't conceive of how they were going to transfer the interview-style books to celluloid. Who would play God after all? :) Instead, the director and screenwriter did a very logical thing - they focused on the touching emotional story of Neale being in an auto accident, then being rendered homeless. As Neale copes with the difficult life on the streets, his true humanity and "Godhood" begins to emerge. A very powerful movie that serves as a nice prelude to reading the books.

THE SPIRITUAL CINEMA CIRCLE PRESENTS “CONVERSATIONS WITH GOD” IN FEBRUARY

Just a few years before he wrote his first book, Neale Donald Walsch was homeless with a broken neck and dumpster-diving for tin cans to have enough money to eat. He certainly had no intention of writing 22 books or becoming the New York Times best-selling author of the “Conversations with God” series. Neale Donald Walsch was just a man down on his luck, out of answers and in desperate need of help, who cried out to God.

And then God answered.

In what became a series of late night “conversations,” God revealed himself to Neale in an utterly earth shattering way. Walsch posed an endless stream of questions about life’s mysteries and uncertainties and, just like that, God illuminated the answers, one by one, to all of Walsch’s desperate cries. Walsch filled dozens and dozens of legal pads recording these conversations and their messages became the basis for an internationally acclaimed book series that has sold over 7 million copies, has been translated into 34 languages and now—a major feature film.

Members of The Spiritual Cinema Circle are receiving “Conversations with God” as part of the February 2007 DVD collection which also includes three outstanding short films. The Circle is America’s fastest growing DVD club specializing in uplifting and inspiring movies. Each month members pay $21 plus shipping and receive a DVD with 4 or more films that are theirs to keep.

During the month of February new subscribers to The Circle will receive “Conversations with God” compilation plus an additional special bonus DVD (you pay a nominal shipping fee), “Soulmates”, which features 6 short films about the magic of relationships and the healing ability of an open heart. That’s a total of 10 great independent films. To receive “Conversations with God” and all of these films click here:

Three Ways to Apply the Law of Attraction More Effectively by Marc De Bruin

The Law of Attraction is cause for everything we experience. Just as the Law of Gravity dictates that what goes up must come down, so does the Law of Attraction stipulate that what you consistently think about and feel about is going to come about, regardless of whether the result is good or bad for you.

Now there is a lot going on around the Law of Attraction, with films like The Secret and What the Bleep having been released, and I've written a couple of articles on the topic already.
To summarise the Law very briefly: your thoughts are powerful vibrations. They actually determine how we are going to feel physically. Thinking about something nice makes us feel great, thinking about something nasty makes us feel grotty (excuse the language). Our thoughts, in combination with feelings, form a major sort of magnet. This magnet pulls in experiences that match the object of our thoughts and feelings. So, if you are constantly worried about something happening, chances are that that exact or very similar thing actually will happen. On the other hand, when you desire something really strongly and keep your focus on it, you will most likely get it too. That is the practical application of the Law of Attraction. It does not discriminate between what is "good" and what is "bad", it only produces what you focus on and feel emotions around consistently.

The question I hear many clients asking in relationship to the Law of Attraction is:
I have been thinking about what I want for a long time, and I have been feeling good about it as well. Still, what I want hasn't occurred yet. Thinking more about what I want slowly starts to make me feel bad, actually, because I am not seeing the results. Am I doing something wrong, and if yes, what?

It's a good question. Even I get caught in this thought trap so now and then.

Having studied and consciously applied the Law of Attraction for some years now, I have found there are three steps you can take to release yourself from the grip of this downward spiral.
1: Be aware of your feelings, and if necessary, make a course correction. Your feelings are your GPS (Global Positioning System, for the non-techies) as far as creation is concerned. Feeling bad means you are moving away from what you want, feeling good means you are moving towards what you want. When you are feeling bad, you GPS is telling you that you are not focusing on your desire, but on the lack or absence of it. The remedy: gain renewed focus on what it is that you want, and do that until you feel good. Why do you want what you want? Why is it making you feel good? What will the end result give you? Think about that.

2: Let go of your attachment to the outcome. This is still an interesting one for myself, sometimes. When we set a goal, we focus on the final result (obviously). Where we often go off-track, is that we do not allow ourselves to feel good until we reach that final result. And even worse, we get completely frustrated and disappointed when we don't get the result, or don't get it soon enough. Of course, that defeats the whole purpose of setting our goal; the instant we feel bad, we -sort of- cancel our order, and start to focus on the absence of our desire. That's not going to get us what we want.

Like it to ordering a coffee: you really fancy a cup of coffee, so you place an order at the counter and take a seat somewhere. Joyfully expecting, you start to find it takes quite a while. And a while. And a while. After waiting an even longer while, you're now quite annoyed and leave the coffee shop, intending never to return to that stupid place again......How do you think you are ever going to get your coffee when you walk away????? But that is what we do when we start to feel bad in relationship to our desire! We run away from our "order".

Every self development guru will tell you it is not important what you get; what is important is the person you become in the process of working towards your goal. Can you stay focused on your desire without being attached to the outcome? That is where personal growth occurs. Not in the achievement of your goal as such. There is a Dutch saying which goes: possession is the end of pleasure. And it is true. Whatever you acquire, after a while it feels "normal" to have it, and then you want more. The remedy in this case: go for what you want, but let go of the attachment to it. Just focus on the process at hand, the steps you need to take now. Trust, know and have patience; if you have placed you order and it makes you feel good thinking about that, you can trust the result to come to you. You can just not set a specific time frame on it. The only thing I know: the better you feel, the sooner it will be there!

3. Appreciate your present position. This links in with point 2: you must, in order to feel good, be appreciative of what you already have, even while striving for more. If you are not happy with your current state, then thinking about what you could have will not make you feel great at all. It will only make you feel worse about your present circumstances! By whatever means possible, feel appreciation for yourself, your circumstances, your environment, for everything, really. If you then go for more, you will not get hung up on not having it yet, but can be joyful in expecting it. You can trust the Law of Attraction to bring the results to you, just as you can trust that day follows night.

Creation really is simple. So simple that we often exclaim it cannot be that simple. That is where we are off-track. We are not doing something wrong, we are just making a thought mistake. Start applying the above three principles, and you will slowly but surely start to see the results. As certain as you can be that throwing a ball up means it will come back down!
If you want to know more about these three steps, feel free to email me! I am more than happy to answer any remaining questions.
